With 14 frets in the clear and a thin-line, cutaway body to give you access to the higher six, this guitar combines Martin’s killer acoustic sound with electric guitar versatility. The onboard Classic 4 preamp and Sonicore pickup provide full, warm acoustic tone with minimal feedback while the jet-black finish sizzles in the limelight. Made from synthetic materials, HPL, it is not an all wood guitar. There are 14 frets in the clear and its a cutaway with addition 5-6 frets easily accessible.

Sound of Martin 00CXAE Guitar

doesn’t have a tinny electrified tone when you plug it in, just as warm and natural as the sound coming out of the soundhole;
round tones;
sounds great acoustic, amped and through the house mixer;
very progressive sound, or a nice full acoustic sound;
acousticlly it’s obviously not as full but plug it in and you get that distinctive Martin round tone;
it has a natural bluesy tone;
its tone is truly unique, but overwhelmingly warm.

Pros of Martin 00CXAE Acoustic Electric Guitar

the price is right, the sound is amazing, it has great stage presence;
sounds great acoustic, amped and through the house mixer;
comfortable to play; the thin body makes it so easy to reach over and play;
the electronics allow you a good variety of tone options with a phase switch and the notch nob along with 4 EQ switches;
the quality is very high, just what you would expect from Martin;
holds tune very well;
neck is a little thinner than a typical acoustic (it’s more like an electric), which makes it easier to play;
good durability, built like a truck.

Cons of Martin 00CXAE Guitar

doesn’t have a very full acoustic sound;
lacks high end in the sound.
