CS 0030 - Shamray Custom Shop ‘SKULL-P’ for Stephane Rudkiewicz (France)

LP Custom style body with carved walnut top and a very light oil finish for a raw feel.

Body: mahogany medium weight with natural dark brown color to match natural color of walnut top. Oil finish.

Top Wood: deep dark brown walnut arched-top like on Zakk Wylde’s signature model, oil finish, elaborate hand-carving: see drawing.

Neck: set neck to body, maple, shaved with “U” style headstock/neck heel (see drawing), ’54 Gibson Les Paul profile a.k.a. “baseball bat”.

Fretboard: maple with WHITE mother-of-pearl block inlays, “fretless wonder” (6130-size) frets.

Headstock: same size as Shamray’s “Ace Frehley”, maple with a walnut facing including a skull carved between the first 2 sets of machine heads, initials S R in pearl inlays on the upper part of the head (see drawing), Gold bell-shaped truss rod cover, bone nut.

Binding: cream color -single layer on fretboard, but multi-layer on headstock(7), front(7) and back of body(5).

Hardware: gold tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece, gold “kidney beans” machine heads, gold strap locks, gold pickup covers with gold pickup rings, gold jackplate cover, no “rhythm/treble” ring but gold ring around the selector, no pickguard, strings Ernie Ball, 10-50 would be perfect.

Electronics: US-made pots, switch and jack, usual LP Custom wiring, 2 volume, 2 tone.

Knobs: 4 amber top hat.

Pickups: Chernishev’s custom hand-wound pickups made to Duncan EVH specs for the bridge position, Alnico II magnet and impedence of 9.1k., good mids and bass, soft top-end response. Duncan Seth Lover for the neck position with a little bit more bass and output (for added growl when distorted). Zebra (cream/black) colored coils for both pickups.

Case: molded plastic flight case Pro-El.

Note: Shamray Custom Shop logo on back of the headstock (nothing on the front apart for the initials and the skull carved as specified above). SR 171078 carved on the back of the headstock in the same dimension as Gibson’s serials and Shamray’s serials just under in smaller letters. Crafter’s signature should be carved on the back of the headstock between the serials and Shamray’s logo.
